Lee Kolbach's solo show opens September 3rd. A "meet & greet" reception will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. September 13.

Still-life by Lee Kolbach
Although Lee Kolbach was trained as a technical illustrator, her approach to painting defies the kind of observational-based and realistic style generally associated with such a background.
Her current solo show brings together her still-lifes and florals – work that is painted in a vibrant and loose style yet also composed in sections, recalling Cubism and the 20th-century avant-garde painters.
Kolbach is a graduate of Newark School of Fine Arts in Newark, New Jersey. As a painter, she has studied extensively, both with private classes and at universities. Her teachers have included local painters who went onto prominence such as Dominic DeStefano, known as a late Abstract Impressionist and Edward Loper, Sr., one of the few African-American artists to work in the 1930s WPA program. Loper later developed an abstract-realism style critics dubbed “kaleidoscopic cubism.”
Kolbach’s post-graduate training has also included classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam in Holland; the Pratt Institute in New York; and the American University in Washington, D.C. Her work is found in numerous public and private collections.
Recent juried exhibitions have included those at the Woodmere Art Museum, the Delaware Art Museum, Villanova University Gallery, University of Delaware and American College in Bryn Mawr.
Join us at the opening to meet this remarkable modern-day Cubist!
